Seen: May to early September. Emerald (Lestes sponsa) Widespread and common. Habitat: well-vegetated standing water, ditches and loch margins. Seen: late June to September. Beautiful Demoiselle (Calopteryx virgo) Only found in Sleat. Habitat: burns and rivers with stony bottoms. Seen: late May to late August.

Seen: mid-July to September.
