Saw my first Odonata of the year today - a Large Red Damselfly and what was probably a Four-spotted Chaser. But the main object of the outing was to check up on one of our rarest plants - Lycopodiella inundata. I'm pleased to say it still survives on the shores of Lochan Dubha. Added a new beetle to my collection on the way.

7 June 2013 . . . . The first Northern Marsh Orchids are beginning to appear, but I have yet to see an Early Marsh Orchid. I saw a Garden Tiger caterpillar in April last year, so was surprised to find one so late.

8 June 2013 . . . . Allt nan Leac I managed to find a solitary Early Marsh Orchid today, and the Lapland Marsh Orchid is also showing itself:
